Yippee, I've finished .... or have I ? At the beginning, I didn't think I would see this through to it's conclusion because it was so foreign to me. But, being stubborn by nature and refusing to give up, here I am at the end of Learning 2.0. What an amazing journey. After overcoming some of the difficult hurdles, I actually began to enjoy the experience.
When it came to computers, my knowledge of the things extended to only what I needed to know about, but now I have learnt so much. My favourite discoveries were flickr, image generators (where I could play around with my photos) and youtube, but it was all good fun and a useful experience.
It has probably taught me to always have a go and use technology more in my pursuit of life-long learning.

#22 Audiobooks
Audio books are becoming more and more sought after, not only for the vision impaired, but for longhaul truck drivers and travellers. Being able to download books free is a great advantage, as it enables patrons to take books on holidays and reduces the worry about returning item to the library by the due date.

#21 Podcast
What occurred to me when looking at podcast, was that there is something out there to interest everyone - from travel to vehicles, from movies to music, from sport to hobbies, from animals to nature and so on.
This one is relating to books.

Information on travel in Africa, which I hope to do one day, can be seen on this podcast.

#20 Youtube
There were so many youtube videos to watch that it was difficult to choose one. I haven't finished playing with this so I will be back later.

I thought this country music one was rather good. I love country music (no, not country and western - there is a difference).

I am a Beatles fan from way back so couldn't resist adding this one to my post as well.
Patrons and libraries interacting via youtube ? ......... they can probably do it already.
Who knows what the future will hold with regard to libraries and technology.

#19 Discovering Web 2.0 Tools
I only had time to scratch the surface of this one but I will come back to it when I have more time. Thought it was great and many of websites could be a fast way of finding information in a library situation. I liked this maps site.

Just had another look at the Web 2.0 awards and I thought this website looks like it could be useful for discovering and saving info about my ancestory.

An easy way of finding out what's on is the site below, which shows upcoming events in your area and around the country. What fun.

#18 Web-based Apps.
I had a look at Zoho Writer, opened an account and had a practice play. I thought this would be a good one for my personal use and for work-based reports and rosters because it could be accessed from any computer. It was also very user-friendly. I do most of my journaling for scrapbooking on computer these days, because I don't like my handwriting and because I like the variety of formats there is on offer.

#17 Playing with PBWiki

I thought this was a great exercise because I could read what like-minded people have to say on subjects which interests me. I added my blog to the "Favourite Blogs" page and also added a post to "Favourites Leisure Time Activity". I have several, as I mentioned in my post, and travel is one of my favourite pastimes. The photo here was taken on a camping trip over Easter 2007. Dargo at dawn under the 80 year old walnut trees.
